COMING April 27: MISSION POSSIBLE - Reflecting on the AACC's Annual Convention, 2015

Some Colleges Remain entry points to Higher Ed; Others Leveraging Deep Data to guide their Paths

As the American Association of Community Colleges convenes its 95th Annual Convention in San Antonio, the colleges find themselves pushed and pulled by competing forces. On the one hand, the colleges remain the entry point to higher education to millions of students who otherwise would encounter a closed door. Colleges are leveraging deep data, constructed guided pathways and turning to performance funding to respond to pressure from constituencies and regulators. We visit the convention and take the temperature of the two-year college sector at this crucial moment. By Paul Bradley. 1,200 words.
