29th Annual Southwest Seminar for Great Teaching: Educators' Point of View


October 26-October 28, 2017 The Inn and Spa at Loretto Santa Fe, NM

The Southwest Seminar for Great Teaching is a participant centered seminar for college teachers that taps the expertise of those in attendance. Attendees leave with a wealth of information and teaching tips that can be readily applied in their classes. Expert sessions include Encouraging Struggling Students, Promoting Student Success: Rules and Strategies, Everyday Teaching Challenges and Solutions, Coping with the Low Achieving Class, Critical Thinking: What is It and How Do We Get There, The Interactive Lecture, Teaching Students to use and Evaluate the Internet. Additional breakout sessions will include Innovative Group Activities, Novel Ice Breakers, Unconventionality: Why I Break the Rules, Student Presentations: Challenges/Successes, Making Online Classes Interesting, Incorporating Social Media into One’s Classes, Incorporating Smart Phones and Tablets into One’s Classes.

Registration fee: $430 (includes five meals and two nights shared lodging). Private rooms for the entire seminar are available for an additional $120.
