The degree is California’s first to serve the growing market in advanced alternative-fuel technology, part of a suite of complementary majors in the college’s innovative automotive technology program. Frala, who is a leader in a statewide effort to create a “Hydrogen Highway” to support expanded use of alternative-fuel vehicles, designed the degree.

Fun was had by all at Cleveland State Community College’s (Tenn.) inaugural Community First Awards Gala. The event, presented by CSCC and sponsored by First Tennessee Bank, honored people for their contributions to the community, in nine categories ranging from healthcare to philanthropy. Ten people were chosen as the category-level award winners, and one Community First Person of the Year was awarded.
