the Fall 2015 Semester starts, Trinidad Hernandez, an Intensive English instructor at Houston Community College (Texas), will be absent from class. Instead, he will be in Sri Lanka training local English teachers. The U.S. State Department has selected Hernandez for a 10- month Fellowship project at the National Institute of Education in Sri Lanka.

Sparks, who has taught in Clover Park Technical College’s (Wash.) Pharmacy Technician Program for nearly 20 years, was surprised with the award at the PTEC national conference.

In an extension of her 2011 study published in the Journal of Behavioral Optometry, Columbia State Community College Professor Louise Katz has completed a study that suggests a correlation between myopia and childhood stress, fear and abuse. It was recently published in the International Journal of Optometry and Visual Performance.
