When Ashley Lewis first toured Clover Park Technical College, (Wash.) the aspiring cosmetologist knew it was the place for her. “Having both a degree and a cosmetology license, you can’t pass that up,” she said. Lewis enrolled in the Cosmetology Program last year and recently ended an eight-year career in business management.

The 39th annual Alvin Community College (Texas) Fall Festival took place on the ACC campus on Oct. 25. The event included games, arts and crafts and food booths sponsored by local businesses and campus clubs and organizations. The Fall Festival also featured a costume contest, hosted by the Alvin Nursing Student Association.

County Community College (Pa.) cut a symbolic green ribbon on April 21 to dedicate four brand new wind turbines at its West Campus in Pottstown. The 25-foot vertical axis wind turbines were recently installed outside MCCC’s Schuylkill Riverfront Academic and Heritage Center, adjacent to Riverfront Park and the Schuylkill River.

Aquaponics is the combination of hydroponics and aquaculture, or the combined culture of fish and plants in recirculating systems.
