State Denies Resident Discount to Children of Illegal Immigrants Even if They Were Born There

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Aspiring college students who are legal U.S. citizens but can’t prove their parents are in the country legally have sued South Carolina officials, saying the state is unconstitutionally denying college scholarships and forcing them to pay out of statetuition even though they’ve lived in the state for years.
